At the Brighton Marathon 2011 finishing line, I saw this woman complete her 26 miles. As the officials offered her congratulations, she asked “Am I last?” The bags on the left are all that’s left after some 8000 runners had collected the belongings they had left at the start at Preston Park, 8 hours before.  The day after this message from “ClumsyAnne” was posted on Flickr “This is me! I was just about on target for a PB (by e few seconds) when I collapsed with about 800m to go. The St Johns Ambulance guys were fab and I was with them (at their Hove post) for 3 and a bit hours. Luckily for me they decided that I could continue so I walked slowly from mile 25 as I was determined to get my medal after all the hard work done over the day and past 4 months. I jogged the last few metres.
